I get a lot of questions about why I bake things that my family won’t eat, the below item being one of them. First of all, if I baked only what my family ate it would all be salted caramel and peanut butter flavored stuff and it would be stuffed in things like macarons with no filling, cakes with no frosting or primarily in cookies—see how limiting that is?
That aside, I bake because I like it, it’s my creative passion. Along with that –what I bake is varied—and is sometimes according to mood. And these bars – perfect example of mood baking, A.K.A lazy baker bars. Of course, if you aren’t in a lazy funk like me, they’re still great—15 minutes of easy prep. How’s that for fast and easy?
Alright let’s do it then. Hit the jump to Better Homes and Garden’s Delish Dish here for the recipe.
Lastly, and as always, if I can please ask you guys–if you are going to pin any of the images please do so from Better Homes and Gardens and not here, since the recipes reside over there. Thanks!
That is the same as my family. Sponge cake is the fave cake with no cream or fruit, short bread with nuts and plain cuatard come in close 2nd and 3rd. BORING!!
However I am glad you still cook these bars, we need this in the world.
My family is the same! Especially my younger sister who refuses to eat anything except the frosting. P.S. Gorgeous blondies! 🙂
Wah. The LAYERS! So gorgeous. Your recipes never disappoint!
Love those chunks of Rolos peeking through!
Your photos always impress me! Annnnnnd these look so wonderful!
Awwwww, yah. Lazy + Toffee & Rolo Blondie Bars = An Equation I Can Get Behind.
Word.
Oh em geee, I need these bars. Like now.
Oh man, I can totally relate! My family is so picky, but I bake and cook by how I feel and because I love to do it!
These bars look incredible! I the they way you styled these and those rolo’s peeking out are awesome!
I’m so glad you choose to bake these luscious treats anyway. It would be terrible if you didn’t! I can completely, utterly relate though, my husband very rarely eats anything sweet. So most of what I make goes to my boys who thankfully devour everything before I can shove it into my maw.
Those look so good!
Passionate bakers unite! Naomi, I even bake things I do not or cannot eat. I bake for pure joy, the creative process and to share whilst trying to be inclusive to varied diets with recipe development. LOVE these blondies filled with toffee and Rolo goodness as well as your styling and photography. Thanks for sharing!
these are heavenly Naomi. I’m with Stacy, I love to bake just for the joy of it or other people.
Looks delicious!!
These looks so delicious!! Was drooling when i saw them on instagram!
I’m crying at how good these sound (and look)!!
Sweet goodness! These look heavenly!
Heavenly!! I’m so glad you baked and posted this recipe, anyways. My husband isn’t big on desserts, but that wouldn’t stop me 😉
The layers and the what’s in em, is all too good.
Great!
MMmmmm. These are perfect. Glad you don’t listen to the family & bake all these lovelies for us!
omg! they seem to be the thing, I’ve been waiting for: chocolate, toffee and cake… sounds like heaven! and great pictures!!
Love how easy and quick this is! Heading over to get the recipe!
thanks for the recepie.
Well, if they won’t eat it, I could certainly take it off your hands! 😀 Rolos remind me of my son, when he was little, he always asked if I could buy him a roll. These are going to be on my list of things to make him for his college care package!
These look like the world’s most perfect blondies…crispy outside, soft inside, and with hidden Rolos? I’m sold 🙂
Lazy baker bars? I gotta try them out ASAP, then!
