Some big news. . .

October 28, 2013 By Naomi Robinson | Bakers Royale 94 Comments

If you are regular reader than you may have noticed things have been spotty around my social media channels. Sure I’ve been pushing out one post after another as usual, but in terms of activity elsewhere—I could hardly find the energy. There’s a reason for that.

Bump_ahead

I’m having a baby! Matt and I are so excited. The boys are thrilled and have already placed their order for a baby sister. Matt and I, like any parents, just want a healthy baby, especially after trying for several months now. What we can all agree on is that, we can’t wait to meet the newest member of our family on May 28th—which by the way seems like almost an eternity. Even more so when I tell you this—the hardest part all this excitement: the smell of mixed butter and sugar makes me sick. Seriously. I can’t even get over this part. How does that happen?

I’m hoping this is not an indication of yet another non-sweeter consumer in the family. I’m really hoping this little one will inherit some of my sweet of tooth. But based on my current meal list of super spicy soup and iced tea—it’s not looking too promising. Even natural sweets like fruits (which I love) have been off the list, since that makes me sick too.

The only sickness that I refuse to relent to: butter and sugar. That’s right, this stubborn baker will beat that gag “reflex” into submission. So expect it to be business as usual around here.

No sweets today, because I wanted to share this super exciting news. But see you tomorrow for our regularly scheduled programming of sweets and indulgence.

Warmest wishes and a heart-felt congratulations to you and your family, Naomi! I hope your pregnancy is easy-going as possible and that you have a smooth labor and delivery with no complications. I’m wondering if the scent of extracts or essential oils (aromatherapy) may help with your nausea? Try sniffing some scents and use the one that makes you feel better in a diffuser or warm pot of water nearby when you’re creaming your butter and sugar. It’s worth a try! xo
