Marbled Espresso Poundcake

March 10, 2015 By Naomi Robinson | Bakers Royale 27 Comments

You know what I love – a good cake. That said, this marbled poundcake never fails to please my cake and coffee cravings. It’s moist, dense, but not so much that it feels heavy  and the last few times I made it, I’ve shot up the chocolate portion with some coffee granules.

So of course I had to share this variation with you. And if you have self-control issues like me when it comes to cake, here’s my suggestion: make this, cut it in half and then freeze one half to pace yourself.

It’s the only thing that works for me, otherwise I would devour the whole thing in two days. For the remainder of this post, hit the jump here to Better Homes and Gardens’s blog Delish Dish.

Freezing the other half is a much better idea than what I usually do for self control issues: Cover things in old coffee grounds and throw them in the garbage.
This cake is too pretty for such a fate. Love that marbling! Pinned!

This is gorgeous, Naomi. I would DEFINITELY have to freeze half of it to avoid eating the whole thing!

I will most definitely be freezing half of this loaf. But then probably thawing it the next day because I couldn’t stop myself…

Freezing a half a loaf is a great way to save me from myself – but really, I would hate to deprive myself of this piece of edible art!

This is how I want my coffee every single day – to eat it, not drink it! so much better!

I always freeze half of my loaf cakes and quick breads. If I don’t, they’re sure to be gone in a matter of a few days–all of it eaten by me. This marbled pound cake looks irresistible. Pinned.
