Get Real. Get La Creme.

La Crème is a new creamer designed for all of us coffee addicts. Before you start wondering if La Crème  is anything like Coffee Mate, let me say-uh, not even close. La Crème puts the moo back in coffee creamers. It’s 100% dairy. And can I say yay to that, especially since I am a coffee fiend who also loves flavored coffee.

That said, I take my creamer seriously just like I take my coffee seriously. So I put the creamer to a very “scientific” head to head taste test in some plastic cups with my friends. All but one of us preferred La Crème  over Coffee Mate.

Here’s what we judged it on and why La Crème  came out on top:

  • Color: More natural in tone and resembling the shade cream more closely.
  • Texture: Thicker and creamier. It’s two steps lighter in texture than regular whipping cream.
  • Taste: Richer, smoother and without the strong after taste found in Coffee Mate.

Beyond the cuppa, I will be keeping La Crème fully stocked in my fridge for my baking needs. That’s right-this creamer is my new found secret weapon for some baked goods

Most cinnamon French toast recipes call for half and half, milk or a cream of some sort. Well being one that loves to experiment, I switched out my usual half and half for some La Crème . You can of course use any of the flavors they offer like French Vanilla, Regular, and Hazelnut but for this recipe, since I was using an Apple Walnut Bread, I chose Vanilla Cinnamon. And wow, wow, wow, what a difference in flavor and texture.

Next up for the La Crème , I will be trying the Hazelnut flavor for some Chocolate Hazelnut Crème Brulee . . .  stay tuned!

    I think I’d love the Cinnamon Vanilla! I wonder what would happen if I tried the CV La Creme in an ice cream mixture… I just LOVE Cinnamon ice cream!

    I would love to try hazelnut, it’s pretty much my favorite flavor ever.
    But unfortunately I’m lactose intolerant. 🙁 which makes it sound almost doubly awesome.

    have tried them all and YUM!!!!!!!!!!! I am having a hard time picking a favorite but I am leaning toward the hazlenut.
    I now use LaCreme in place of my liquids in all my cake and cookie recipes. It really makes a difference in the taste and consistancy. Everyone comments on how moist and rich my baked goods are.

    I would try the French Vanilla asap! The Coffeemate version is one of the main reasons I would even drink drip coffee… but the ingredients are awful! Everything we are supposed to avoid! Thanks

    Definitely french vanilla! I’m a sucker for french vanilla. It’d only be better if it had real vanilla beans in it. I’ve made cake with real vanilla beans – what a treat!

    I think I would like to try the French Vanilla. I might be able to use it to sweeten other foods/drinks besides coffee, maybe hot chocolate or tea.

    Oooohh! I am anxious to try the Cinnamon Vanilla, my two favorite flavors for coffee. I always sprinkle some cinnamon in my coffee grounds or in my coffee after it’s brewed. I love the instant comfort of cinnamon.

    I would love try any of them, but the hazelnut especially. Do they do caramel or dulce de leche? If not,they should. Down with coffee mate and their hydrogenated oil! That stuff has a nasty texture and makes my mouth and throat feel as if I were downing axel grease (and it’s unnatural and terrible for your health besides). I’d rather sit down and eat my lipstick.

    I’m a College student enrolled in a Business Writing class. For a class project, I am writing a business plan that establishes the basic skeleton of a roastery and cafe (needs, unique selling advantage, requested capital, working capital, mission… etc). I’m searching for up-to-date information on my proposed business sector (coffee) that may be available from trade shows, trade magazines, similar businesses, local networking associations an et cetera.
