Predictable. A Valentine’s something or another the day before. Well this year it’s a Valentine’s cocktail. I think you’ll like the blood orange against the basil and the margarita meets French kiss cocktail combination. It’s not dessert because I couldn’t get around to photographing it, that’s the downside of being a slower shooter and having a 9-5’r that only allows me to photograph on the weekend.
I know, I’m such an excuse maker.
Well here’s another one: I’m cutting this post short—struggling with a personal issue that has me heavy. I ‘m sorry, I just don’t have it in me to be up and conversational.
Cheers, to a forward looking statement that tomorrow will be better than today.

French Kiss Margarita
Ingredients
- 4 basil leaves
- 8 ounces blood orange juice
- 2 ounces lime juice
- 4 ounces Anejo tequila
- 2 ounces sweet vermouth
Instructions
Muddle basil in blood orange juice. Add in remaining ingredients stir and strain into a glass filled with ice.
Will be praying for you.
Your blog is your space, say (or don’t say) whatever you want. We’re all here for you, rooting for you!
I agree with Amanda. I mean don’t get too personal but people like to see the human side of us from time to time. It’s how we connect with them on a deeper level. Sorry you’re going through something rough. This too shall pass. Love the cocktail! Cheers!

Gorgeous! Hope things get better.
Thank you for this post, I truly admire your honesty. I struggle with writing how I’m really feeling in my blog, for fear of being negative or a downer, but it’s true, we all have bad days and it’s comforting and inspiring to see someone having a bad day and not trying to mask it.
I really hope things are on the up and up, and you’re having a beautiful day today! Your photos are amazing and one day I hope to be able to bake and take photos as awesome as yours. 🙂
That French Kiss Margarita looks amazing! Basil and Blood Orange Juice – sounds like an incredibly tempting combination. I’m always a sucker for Blood Orange, because I feel like it’s so much juicier and bursting with flavor. Tequila + Sweet Vermouth, too? Need to try!!
Lovely pictures, by the way!
I love your blog! it’s amazing!!! Inspiring!!
