For Consumption: Vintage meets Modern Design

March 10, 2011 By Naomi Robinson | Bakers Royale 14 Comments

Huh? What the heck is going on? Where are the recipes and food shots? Check the blog title-quick!

Vintage meets Modern

Vintage meets Modern

Yes, you are at the right place. The picture above is a sneak peek into some new content that I will adding to the mix. I guess now is a good time to also update you that Bakers Royale is undergoing a redesign. I’m finally moving out of this template into something a little more expansive that will allow me to better feature some more fun things.

So along with food and recipes, I will also be featuring posts like this one. Don’t worry, this is a baking blog and will remain so. The art and design I will be incorporating will be centered around food, tabletop and kitchen design. They will easily be distinguished under the For Consumption Series (like you see in the post title). Trust me, I won’t veer off too much, but I wanted to break up the food a bit and share with you some beautiful and inspiring work from around the web.

With the re-design I decided to fuse my passion for food and my obsession with art and design into one blog. There will also be a few other new series as well, so be sure to check back. I promise it will be good fun! For now I hope you enjoy the art and design I grabbed from around the web for the first post in the For Consumption series.

Lastly, I would love to know what your thoughts are on this series-thumbs up or thumbs down.? Love it or hate it? Let me know.

I like the idea! Something new and fun to look at. Of course I have to say… the spoons are beautiful but I can’t help but think they look strangely like baby spoons with their bright colors lol

thumbs up! I love vintage and modern – I like to call my decorating style romantic vintage, and dream of a vintage inspired kitchen one day (with all the modern appliances of course! 🙂 )

I think this sounds wonderful! A blog is always evolving… and, in your case, in the very best possible way.
