Eggnog Marshmallows

December 29, 2014 By Naomi Robinson | Bakers Royale 17 Comments

I’m keeping today’s recipe low-key and fuss free, since you are probably in a bit of a baking fatigue. So I made you guys some eggnog marshmallows. I’m a big fan of making marshmallows because they’re  easy and the hands-on time is relatively short. Along with that, if your house is anything like ours, than you are bound to have some eggnog lying around from the holidays. Well, grab your candy thermometer and let’s do this.

I took some step-by-step pictures, so you can see it’s not so scary working with a candy thermometer. As I mentioned in this Kahlua marshmallow, if you can boil water, you can work with hot sugar.

Hit the jump here to The Kitchn for the recipe and the step-by-step pictures and tips and tricks for success.

I really need to get on the whole marshmallow thing. These look pretty darn amazing. But, let’s be honest, you totally took some swigs of eggnog (and bourbon/rum/sherry) while you were making these, right?

This is a brilliant way to use the eggnog leftover in my fridge! We’ve done eggnog fudge before, but never marshmallows. I’m terrified to try making them from scratch! But with how much my guy loves using my culinary torch to “flambé” things (his words!), I think homemade marshmallows just might ahve to happen in the future. Pinned!

These sound great! I imagine they are fantastic in hot chocolate – or in chai tea…marshmallows work in all hot drinks right?

Are you kidding me with these?! Insane. I love eggnog as a baking ingredients, it’s such a great flavor. Not as excited to drink it. Oh, and these would make an incredible topping for some boozy hot cocoa.
