It’s Friday and we are a doing a Valentine’s Day cocktail. I know we are a few weeks away, but that’s okay, right? This just gives you time to play around and tweak this recipe to your liking. Go ahead, get your boozy testing on.
As for the Valentine’s cocktail billing of this Blushing Kiss Martini—it’s actually a drink I developed a while back and just re-named it for this holiday (have I mentioned I use to be in marketing?).
Many of you know I’m pregnant and with that, shooting can be a real pain sometimes, especially in tight spaces, and in particular with this set of photos. For this shot I had to shoot in our very narrow laundry room because of the time of day (yes, I move around throughout the house chasing the light). Anyhow, after my belly knocked over two drinks and much cursing, I texted for reinforcement—why holler downstairs when you can be lazy like that?
My reinforcement: Matt, who after a five-minute lesson killed it with these shots. I’m ridiculously happy and excited about this because as I get bigger, I’m gonna enlist him much more to help with the shooting—much more.
. . .back to the drink. Sorry, I’m everywhere today.
Now, if you know me, you know that I love gin, so I’m always looking for ways to mix it into drinks. If you don’t know me, you probably don’t care to know that. But I guarantee you will like this drink.

Absolutely adore the photos.
And absolutely adore gin.
This is such a pretty cocktail. I simply love the addition of the small herbs; and such a different one too! I never knew thyme went well with Grapefruit
I could go for a martini right now, love the recipe!
Gorgeous styling and gorgeous photos – you and Matt make a great team!
Now that’s what I call teamwork! Stunning, Naomi. I’ll happily drink this on your behalf while you’re preggers 🙂
The photos are just breath-taking! And I love st germaine and I bet with the grapefruit that these go down so easily! Can’t believe Matt was able to help THAT much…wow!!! He’s got talent (and a very good teacher!)
The big wedge in this drink is fabulous! Love it!
Beautiful photos and great color for the time of year! Chasing the light, LOVE it, I usually shoot in the same part of the house, I need to diversify by time of day. Sometimes the light in the afternoon sucks!
wow, props to Matt. . that’s so awesome that you have some help to enlist! 🙂 Beautiful shots! and I love that you chase the light in your house. . only way to do it. 🙂
Every time I think you can’t take a better photo – you go and do it again!! This is stunning, Naomi!!
PS: Don’t you just love light-chasing? 🙂
This drink looks soo beautiful and sounds amazing. Beautiful shot
Beautiful Pictures! It is 5 o’clock somewhere! Love the drink!
The first photo is just gorgeous Naomi! The lighting is perfect and shows so beautifully through the wedges of grapefruit. By the look of those drinks, you’d make a pro bartender!
Really beautiful photos! Have seen a few delicious-sounding cocktail recipes over the last few days so really craving one right now! This one looks gorgeous!
Such a beautiful cocktail–and an excellent excuse to break out a grapefruit or two. I would be the one pounding back a tumbler full of all the extra fresh juice before getting my martini on. 🙂
Lovely sounding – and looking – drink and great photos 🙂 I really love the glasses!
I love the beautiful slice of grapefruit with the backlighting.
LOL! Did anyone else think “shooting can be a pain sometimes, especially in tight spaces” meant firing a weapon. I can see how that could be a pain when you’re pregnant. I guess a camera could be considered a weapon in some cases.
I will try this drink. I love grapefruit and alcohol.
im so glad I found this blog because this drink is really really delicious and pretty to boot! I’m making it a signature cocktail at my wedding!
So pretty and sounds delicious!!
