Can we just talk about these banana splits on a stick? My little guy and I are so excited about them. It’s a fun summer hack on the traditional banana split treat.
We skipped the bowl and ice cream for a popsicle stick . . . and are you ready for the fun part? I cored the center and stuffed it with Yoplait yogurt!
You all know I love making fun food, so when Yoplait asked me to partner with them for a summer Snack Hack I immediately said yes for many reasons. First off beating snack boredom is a welcome challenge in my home. Every year Cole and I sit down and decide what makes it into the rotation. Of course it shifts and changes throughout the year, but the one constant – Yoplait.
Do you see why the partnership with them was a no brainier? It was the yogurt I had as a kid so naturally I made it Cole’s too. I have nostalgic sweet spot for Yoplait. But beyond that, I love the fact that it’s made without high fructose corn syrup and the Light Yoplait contains no aspartame. I can definitely feel good about stocking my fridge full of Yoplait for my family to snack on. And since they carry over 100 different flavors, there’s not a chance we can get bored of eating yogurt – ever!
Besides enjoying it straight it up, I’m always spinning yogurt into fun treats like this banana yogurt split on a stick. Come on, admit it—these treats make you smile. I promise your kids will love it and you will too, so if you decide to double the recipe—no problem, the recipe lends itself well to even tripling.

Preparation: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Fill pastry bag with yogurt. Slice the bananas at an angle. Insert popsicle sticks. Using an apple corer or a knife, core out center of each banana just above the popsicle stick. Fill center with yogurt and transfer to parchment line baking sheet. Transfer baking sheet to freezer to set, about 4 hours. Freeze time will vary according to freezer setting and how full it is. Fill a small plastic bag with melted peanut butter, make a small cut in one corner. Set aside. Remove popsicles from freezer, dip frozen banana popsicle in chocolate and place back on parchment lined baking sheet. Drizzle peanut butter on top and layer with sprinkles, whipped cream and maraschino cherry. Serve immediately. These sound like the perfect healthy banana split!
Ok, so I’m going to be a nerd for a moment.
I’m having a Doctor Who themed first birthday party for my son and one of the things I wanted to do was have something to do with bananas because there is a line that says, ‘never go to a party without a banana.’
You just made my dreams come true! <3 <3
Oh my goodness Naomi, I couldn’t love these more!
OMG these popsicles are genius! I may not be a kid anymore, but the site of theses pops make my eyes light up with happiness!
These popsicles are perfect for a backyard party!
Such a great idea and I know that my kiddos will gobble these up!
Such a fun summer treat!
Such a perfect idea but that brand of yogurt has 8 teaspoons of sugar per container and how they can call it natural is beyond nutritional imagination. I would never start a child on this product.
Woo hoo!! Such a fun summer dessert!
Love!! Seriously, my inner five-year old self is jumping for joy!
Such a brilliant idea, Naomi! You always use the best sprinkles.
These are absolutely adorable Naomi!! I’ve always been a kid at heart, so I fell head over heels for these as soon as I saw your gorgeous photos. The sprinkles are so cute, and the yogurt center is such a creative touch! My brother and I grew up on Yoplait too (the classic strawberry is still one of my favorite flavors), and we still eat Yoplait to this day! 🙂
So fun Naomi! What a great way to healthy up the classic banana split! I’m sure the boys loved them!
